October 2001: drummer Davide Cantoni, keyboarder Ugo Greco and singer Andrea Aerni founded a band, which stayed nameless for a while. The three met regularly in Ugo’s laundry room. Every spare minute was allotted to their common passion: New Metal music. In June 2003 guitarist Daniel Neuhaus joined the band. At the same time, as the result of a new found passion, Ugo changed from keyboards to the bass guitar. August 1, 2003 the Steeld was born. Steeld started out small by giving concerts locally and singing New Metal cover songs. Soon they were asked to be the supporting act for the Lovebugs (CH) in Pontresina and Zoo Army (D) in Uster. In September 2005, DJ Mathias Widmer joined the band. Steeld began concentrating on composing their own music instead of covering other Bands songs.
