Urban Cosmonaut Radio was born as an answer to the search for that special sound we can identify with. UCR stands for a new kind of cosmic identity, that exists in the fusion of all sounds past and present, all things here, and there, and nowhere - transcending barriers of time, genre and locality. For those of us who feel the pull of other cultures, who are drawn to genre-bending soundscapes and are fascinated by indigenous sounds. UCR is a gateway. It’s a portal for this new generation of cosmopolitan cosmonauts - for the explorers of a globalized world, the travellers of a musicverse without borders. We are the listeners of a radio in the form of a cosmic spaceship, on a voyage through tropiglobal bass, past eclecticotronica fused with ethno techno, flying up, up, up high to cumbia loops, dropping deep down low to techno rhythms and wandering slowly through slothdisco tunes. The pilots navigating the spaceship are producers and DJs from all over the globe, guiding the listener through their unique taste for sound in a monthly podcast series of specially produced episodes, live Urban Cosmonaut Radio shows and curated label releases and compilations. Join us on this adventure through the universe, forever in search of unique music that reflects who we are: Urban Cosmonauts.
