The sculptor Michail Vouzounerakis was born in Heraklion, Crete in 1980.He lived and grew up in Ierapetra.After finishing High school he left to study in the school of marble-sculpture in Pirgos in Tinos island. His teachers were the sculptors G.Maniatakos, the painter D.Mbeza, G.Silikos also teacher of marble-carving and Mrs G.Roukouni-Maniatakou teacher in architectural design.
During his three-year studies in Tinos (1998 - 2001) he was awarded three times with the Aegean & Cyclades Ministry's award for his performance in marble sculpture.

There are other pieces of his work in private collections, cemeteries, churches etc,both in Greece and abroad. He has worked with the 13th Byzantine Antiquities for the reconstruction of the stone-carved Ottoman fountain in Ierapetra, Crete. He has also taught stone-carving for a period in 2007.
