Konrad Szczebiot is a Polish critic and theater historian. He is a Lecturer in the Department of Puppetry Art at the Aleksander Zelwerowicz State Theatre Academy in Warsaw, and he also teaches at the Vocal and Acting School in Bialystok. He is a regular collaborator of the Polish Radio and TVP (Polish Television). He has published articles in numerous cultural magazines (“Teatr”, “Scena”, “Próby”, “Critical Stages”). He is the Vice-President for International Affairs of the Polish Section of the IATC, member of the ExCom of IATC/AICT and a member of the UNIMA and the ZASP (Association of Polish Stage Artists). Szczebiot has authored several theatre plays. He is particularly interested in experimental theatre, laboratory theatre and interdisciplinary performance (modern puppet theatre, opera, musical, dance theatre, visual theatre). He is a former Director of the Department of National Institutions of Culture in the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland.
