"Run, live to fly, fly to live, do or die,
Run, live to fly, fly to live, Aces high"
When I stand before you shining in the early morning sun
When I feel the engines roar and I think of what we've done
Oh the bittersweet reflection as we kiss the earth goodbye
As the waves and echoes of the towns become the ghosts of time
The bugle sounds as the charge begins
But on this battlefield no one wins
The smell of acrid smoke and horses breath
As you plunge into a certain death
Mother Russia
Dance of the czars
Hold up your heads
Be proud of what you are
Now it has come
Freedom at last
Turning the tides of history
And your past
Valhalla waits, valkyries rise and fall
The warrior tombs, lie open for us all
A ghostly hand reaches through the veil
Blood and sand, we will prevail
Out of the the universe, a strange light was born
Unholy union, trinity reformed
"Questions are a burden,
And answers are a prison for oneself"
Out of the Shadows and into the sun
Dreams of the past as the old ways are done
Oh there is beauty and surely there is pain
But we must endure it to live again
A man who casts no shadow has no soul
Curving on the edge of daylight til it slips into the void
Waited in the long night, dreaming til the sun is born again
Stretched the fingers of my hand, covered countries with my span
Just a lonely satellite, speck of dust and cosmic sand
Coming home when I see the runway lights
In the misty dawn the night is fading fast
Coming home, far away as their vapor trails align
Where I've been tonight, you know I will not stay
She's the biggest vessel built by man, a giant of the skies
For all you unbelievers, the titanic fits inside
Here lie their dreams as I stand in the sun
On the ground where they built, and the engines did run
To the moon and the stars, now what have we done?
Oh the dreamers may die, but the dreams live on
Imagine a man
When it all began
The pilot of Enola Gay
Flying out of the shock wave
On that August day
All the powers that be
And the course of history
Would be changed for evermore

Any two of these men could come together and the things that were left unsaid were as well understood as things said.
Flight was more than their life-time career. It was their reason for living-and perhaps for dying in a way that they had chosen.
So they held tight communion, these men, and each was full of respect for the other. There was not enough hatred among them to fill a poison thimble. It was difficult to hate their chief antagonist-so impersonal a thing as the weather. So their major passions were consumed by the elements.
They visited the earth and lived upon it in a detached fashion. Their bodies slipped down from an island in the sky, only because they were still human and required nourishment. Their spirits, the intangible essence that set them apart from other men, always remained aloft.
