I am a patriot, I am proud of my country and what it has accomplished. I am happy with what it have.
I am not a nationalist because I do not think my country or culture is superior to anyone. I do not think anything and everything my country do is right. I will object to my government or even the army if they do something inappropriate.
There is a fine difference between thinking of a patriot and nationalist.
I am a patriot and loves my county for WHAT IT DOES RIGHT. I am a patriot and supports my country for what it tries to achieve.
I am not a nationalist because I don’t support the country on WHATEVER it does.
Patriotism is love for the land and people of my country but nationalism is hate for the land and people outside of it.
They are not same. One is love, the other is hate. One is positive, the other is negative.
Patriotism is acceptance, nationalism is ignorance.
Because I am not only a responsible citizen of my country but also a responsible citizen of globe.
World is made of all kinds of people. I can be Hindu in India, A Muslim in the Arabs, A Buddhist in Nepal or Christian in Europe. I have to respect the cultures, ideas and values of everyone. Not just mine.
With patriotism comes acknowledgement of world around me. It creates a sounding and peaceful environment for the human kind to grow.
Patriotism not only improvises one’s own living land but also makes one respect the other’s.
That’s a big deal. Because the lack of it was payed by bloodshed.
I share the responsibility for survival of the next generation of human kind, so I should be reasonable, be patriotic, be proud of my land as well as my planet.
I should be a global citizen. I shall adhere to the truth that everyone is responsible for what happens to everyone else.
Rich is created at the expense of the poor. I am leading a great life because someone else couldn’t. Just because they cannot resist mean I can pretend and do not act. I shall and I must act!
